On Tour! Speaking at SharePoint Saturday - NYC

Friday, 2 July 2010 13:48 by Michael Mukalian

Back up for air!  And with that, I'll be presenting my SharePoint 2010 Features and Solutions with Visual Studio 2010 at the upcoming SharePoint Saturday - NYC event, coming up on July 31st.  Remember, there's no better place to find a wealth of knowledge on all things SharePoint at these SharePoint Saturday events.  We're talking networking, SharePoint, speakers, SharePoint, MVPs, and did I mention SharePoint?  Again, come on out for a day of all things SharePoint with industry experts, learn a bunch of great stuff, and to top it off, it's FREE!  Head on over to the SharePoint Saturday - NYC site and register!  It'd be great to meet you all.

Friday, 9 October 2009 17:08 by Michael Mukalian

Hey folks, fresh off of some much needed vaca and back in the swing of things.  And, on that note, I'll be speaking at the SharePoint Saturday - Philly event on November 7th.  This is a great opportunity for those that are looking to get into SharePoint, as well as be the place to be for all things SharePoint Server 2010 (well, after the SP Conference that is).  It's 8 hours (including breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack) of all SharePoint goodness, including...

- Lots of SharePoint 2010 discussions!
- 8 hours
- Information Architect, Developer and Administration tracks
- 250 seats with tables (laptops welcome)
- Free breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack
- Raffles and prizes at 5:00
- Easy parking
- After hours party at the Shanachie pub in Ambler (network with speakers and attendees)

My talk will be entitled Web Content Management with SharePoint Server 2010 and it's from 10-11.  Check out the list of Speakers and Sessions.

Registration's wide open, and word has it it's already half full.  So have at it folks!

Presented at Philly.NET Code Camp 2009.1
An Overview of SharePoint Event Receivers

Sunday, 19 April 2009 11:17 by Michael Mukalian

I had the honor to present a topic for the SharePoint track at this past Saturday's Philly.NET Code Camp (version 2009.1) on SharePoint Event Receivers.  I was blown away (yet again) by the amount of people that came out on a gorgeous day (75+F) to stay inside and learn all things tech.  500+ people, 60 tracks/speakers, and just a ton of cool stuff.  And best of all...FREE!!  Thanks for all that came out to this and those that sat in on my talk.  If you attended you truly got to experience just how passionate we all are for the tech we work and play with.

The Event Receivers chat was done at an overiew level, with information culled from all over.  A real good blog entry on the topic (as well as a slick Event Receivers "plug in" for SharePoint) is at Brian Wilson's blog.

Here's the slides/code I used during my track. CodeCamp2009.1.zip (525.62 kb)

Again, thanks for all that showed on 4/18.  Now go out an enjoy the weather! - M

Present(ed)ing at the Philly.NET Code Camp on October 11th!

Friday, 26 December 2008 16:26 by Michael Mukalian

As the munged title kinda states, this posting relates to an event that has already happened. So much fer real-time, eh?

I was able to present a more "code heavy" presentation of my talk on Features and Solutions at the
Philly.NET Code Camp on Saturday, October 11th. I gotta say, what a cool event. Hundreds of folks showed up, early on a Saturday, and stayed til the evening, listening to tracks from 51 speakers that ranged all across the .NET space. It was one of the coolest things I ever did, meeting with peers, speaking on topics we all are interested in.

I'm tidying up the source code that I used for my talk and will upload in the very near future.

Oh and to any and all that showed up for my talk...thanks! - M
